What is swatting? Swatting is when a prank call is made to authorities in the hopes of bringing a large number of police to a particular address where there is no emergency. The intent of swatting is to instill fear upon the victim. There are several types of people affected by swatting, up to and including the victim and even the police dispatched to the scene. Swatting is no small prank, and the consequences for those who commit swatting is severe.
